Bottega Ghianda

Shades of continuity

The quality and excellence of the woodworking achieved over the years by Bottega Ghianda has fuelled a growing cult amongst connoisseurs and design protagonists. A long-time admirer, Romeo Sozzi, designer and passionate cabinetmaker, took over - together with his sons Stefano, Davide and Paolo - the laboratory of Pierluigi Ghianda. Picking up the baton directly from the Maestro, Sozzi has enabled the craftsmen trained at Ghianda's school to continue - smoothly and seamlessly - their valuable and virtuous work.

Heritage

Shortly before Pierluigi Ghianda’s death, Romeo Sozzi and his sons took over a firm commitment: Bottega Ghianda had not to be anchored to its past or become a museum but the aim was to grant a future to this high end Italian workshop whilst  trying to be always living up to its history. The “things” elegant, ever green, long-lasting created by Pierluigi Ghianda still exist within Bottega Ghianda collections, thought and executed with the same measure of care. As if to say: the legend goes on with unchanged craftmanship.

“Legends last over time if we don't get nostalgic over them; they can redevelop as we go on”.

ROMEO SOZZI

Ode to the crafts

With a deep love for perfection and great respect for handmade work: Romeo Sozzi does believe in  a small miracle created by his artisans. "Artworks come from a precious material such as wood," says Romeo Sozzi. "Only craftsman’s skilful hands could see, recognize, illuminate, and highlight the potential of every kind of wood whilst elevating, transforming the raw material into many 'speaking objects'. Each one different, each one perfect, each one with its own unique soul".

The aim is to keep mastery and craftsmanship’s skills alive and to give it a new, current, contemporary, and original life.
