In solid ash wood, available also with copper inserts, or in solid oak wood, available with silver inserts, the Arthur stool, with its three sabre-like legs, is a relic that comes back to life through memory. Arthur is a tribute to the Austrian architect Adolf Loos, known for his hostility to all forms of ornamentation, but it harks back to earlier times. In fact, its measured aesthetics are reminiscent of a stool from the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt, whose resurfacing from the oblivion of darkness was prompted by the 19th-century interest in Egyptology. Arthur's regal aura condenses the sense of past eras and projects them into the present, but also into the future.
