Mario Bellini is a world-renowned architect and designer. He has received the Compasso d'Oro Award eight times and 25 of his works are in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York, which dedicated a retrospective to him in the year 1987. He was editor of Domus magazine (1985-1991). He has designed numerous art and architecture exhibitions both in Italy and abroad, including the latest ones at Palazzo Reale with Giotto's masterpieces (2016) and at the Museo del Novecento dedicated to Margherita Sarfatti (2018-2019). In 2015, the Milan Triennale awarded him the Gold Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Architecture and in 2017 dedicated to him an exhibition. Since 1980, he has dedicated himself mostly to architecture. Buildings designed and realised include the Portello District of Fiera Milano, the Tokyo Design Centre in Japan, the America Headquarters of Natuzzi in the United States, the building for the Department of Islamic Arts at the Louvre in Paris, and the new Convention Centre in Milan, the largest in Europe.
